June 4, 2012, 7:30 pm: The San Diego Jewish Arts Festival presents the 11th annual klezmer Summit; headlining this event will be "Common Chords" - an ensemble created by klezmer great Yale Strom and Salman Ahmad, UN Goodwill ambassador to Southeast Asia and the father of the "Sufi Rock" genre. Bringing their musical and cultural backgrounds and traditions to the Lyceum's main stage, Strom and Ahmad will be joined by Elizabeth Schwartz (vocals), Pt. Samir Chatterjee (tabla), Snny Jain (dhol) and other local and internationally renowned virtuosos.
